Both products are similar to the previously marketed filler products introduced by Allergan however the formula has been enhanced to add local anesthetic directly into the filler. Juvederm is a hyaluronic acid (HA) based dermal filler that has been approved by the FDA for the treatment of facial volume loss and resulting skin wrinkles associated with the aging process. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance found in all mammals that helps to hydrate and add volume to your skin. Although the effect is temporary, the resulting volume correction may last up to one year or longer depending upon injection site. The smooth consistency of Juvedrem allows for treatment of a variety of facial volume correction issues.
