Xeomin® in Staten Island, NY
Dr. Decorato offers Xeomin® treatments to patients throughout New York and New Jersey, including Staten Island, Manhattan, Brooklyn, Elizabeth, Newark, Jersey City, and Perth Amboy.
Xeomin® is an FDA-approved injectable facial filler by Merz Pharmaceuticals. It is used primarily in improving fine lines and wrinkles, but is not yet approved by the FDA for other cosmetic purposes. Similar to Botox® and other injectables, Xeomin® is administered with a thin needle into different parts of the face that have problem areas. The injectable has the botulinum toxin solution, which helps to relax muscles in the face and block nerve activity, temporarily removing lines.
Is Xeomin® Right For Me?
Xeomin® is a safe, minimally invasive procedure approved by the FDA for smoothing out wrinkles and lines. Ideal candidates are those who are physically healthy, not pregnant or nursing, and who do not have a history of neuromuscular diseases, such as multiple sclerosis. You should not use Xeomin® if you have deep facial scars or thick facial skin, weakness already in your facial muscles, drooping eyelids or skin disorders in the areas that will be the injection sites.
The Cost Of Xeomin® In New York Or New Jersey
The total price for Xeomin® varies for each patient. Each case is unique, and pricing and financing will be discussed during your consultation at Dr. Decorato’s Staten Island office.
The Xeomin® procedure is similar to other injectable cosmetic procedures. It begins by preparing your skin, which should be free of any makeup or moisturizer. Preparing it includes numbing it if you are sensitive to needles, although the needles used are tiny and barely noticeable. With a topical numbing solution, you hardly feel anything during the 30 minute procedure. The needle is used to administer the Xeomin® solution into the problem areas of your face. It is mostly used between the eyebrows and near the eyes for lines, wrinkles, and crow’s feet.
Recovery After Xeomin®
The potential side effects from your Xeomin® treatment are few, including headaches, soreness, swelling and bruising. Some patients don’t have any of these side effects, but those that do only experience them for a few days. You can return to your normal activities right away, but avoid strenuous activity for a couple days. The long-term results from Xeomin® usually last about four months. During the recovery period, avoid direct sunlight, don’t touch the incision sites and follow your doctor’s orders as far as cleansers, lotions, and sunscreen. While it is rare, you may have an allergic reaction to the solution in Xeomin®. If you have severe pain, bright red spots around the incision sites, or your skin feels warm in these areas, consult your doctor.
